COMMENTARY: TYRANNY SHOULD BE RESISTED....

It makes me glad that after so many years of being government apologists our leaders have woken up from there life long slumber to agitate for the rights of the people they represent. There were many atrocities committed against our people which cemented our second class citizens status. One thing the somali must realize is that you would always remain a (wariaah) to the rest of kenyans.Times have changed and we should change with times because we live in "interesting times". The people can reach great heights of empowerment and a greater understanding of their rights if they remain united and overlook their petty assumed differences they have. It has always made me sad that we are treated differently from the rest of our countrymen and we are largely to blame for it because of our complacency and lack of interest in changing the status quo but may be not, we have been institutionalized and we have been programmed to fear anything to do with the government. Until recently chiefs used to force people to attend "barazas".To our leaders I congratulate you on your new found courage and zeal and to those still living in the years gone by, may you be able to find your steps and voices and speak for your people and fight for their rights. Leaders should unite for the common good of their people. They can have a better negotiating power as a unit than scattered individuals with personal agendas. One person that I will continue to admire is Hon Billow Kerrow because he has never shied from defending his people and he is a man who can hold his fort at any given day. Let it be a new awakening for the people of N.E.P and many better tommorows. If you are afraid to speak against tyranny, then you are already a "slave".
